Children & Young People

Living Ambitions is a member of the Independent Children’s Home Association (ICHA) which is committed to raising standards and providing the best possible environment and services for children. Living Ambitions abides by these standards and reflects them in our residential services for children and young people.

The organisation is also accredited as an approved provider with the eight participating GMAC authorities: Halton, Warrington, St Helens, Liverpool, Wirral, Knowsley, Sefton and Cheshire.

Living Ambitions successfully operate a number of well established children’s homes in Lancashire and Greater Manchester. All homes are registered with Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) and provide specialist support that celebrates the uniqueness and individualism of children and young people with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and complex needs.

The children and young people who live in our homes are supported on a minimum of 1:1 basis by experienced and fully vetted staff. The high staffing ratio allows for a complete individualised child centred approach and enables the young people to develop independence skills that will assist them through their life. Therefore young people living in our homes are able to have a seamless transition into independent/supported living enabling them to reach their full potential.

Each residence is a large detached property located in local communities. The homes are not distinguishable in any way from other residential properties. The spacious houses are able to accommodate up to four children/young people between the ages of 6–20 (age range varies between dwellings) and every child/young person has their own personalised bedroom.

All of the homes are furnished and decorated to a high standard. Each comprises of at least four reception rooms together with large kitchen. Care has been taken with fitting of the essential safety equipment to ensure the building feels homely.

Available to a national audience the children and young people’s services of Living Ambitions compliment our autistic specific school. Oliver House School is situated in close proximity to the homes in the North West region, therefore creating a complete provision. The School provides pupils with an individualised skill development curriculum that is designed to address the specific needs and uniqueness of each child.
